uhm, no i don’t finish things. [anything]

My back feels like it’s burning tonight for some reason and i’m again very sleepy and tired.
No choice but going to lie on my back right now i guess. Hopefully it’ll be enough to help (because Ouch! it is more than uncomfortable).

sketches &tc

Puisque que je procrastine sans fin trop de choses depuis des mois, voila au moins une sélection de quelques gribouillages selon ce que j’ai sous la main. Plus ou moins récents, quelques semaines, deux/trois mois et/ou plus anciens.

[edited: updated because some doodles were missing as WP’s editor was close to make me snap when first making this post. I have no patience for computer crap anymore. Sorry for this.]

Comfort zone

Perhaps a mood. I’ve been slowly rereading Pattern Recognition –once again– (William Gibson, 2003).
What’s new? I still really like this novel. Taking my time.

I recently read ROADSIDE PICNIC (aka STALKER or “Pique-Nique au bord du chemin“) for the first time, i read it in french translation; intro by Ursula K. LeGuin. Of course, i don’t know how come/why i didn’t read it before.
I had been meaning to read SOLARIS by Lem for what feels like a long time now; I was perhaps finally going to start reading it when i landed on ROADSIDE PICNIC instead. A short, easy and quick read. It was also great. I didn’t want it to end.

I’ve read bits of other things after that/since — some reading/rereading of some Borges’ things (bits of poetry, etc), other bits of poetry by other authors, bit of one play (maybe one thing by Poe also? or was it before…) or i don’t know – things.
I was unsure of which other long form fiction/novel to start; hard to pick something to follow STALKER. Maybe why i started to read it a second time instead of picking another novel, i couldn’t decide. I also started another well known Stanislas Lem’s novel at some point but i will probably only resume this one a bit later.
For now I’m slowly rereading Pattern Recognition.

** I thought i’d write this entry in French, i was going to, but alas…

Add Title

I managed to spend a good part of my life avoiding being aware of most kind of “news”. All the daily news stuff i couldn’t stand, or handle — the things i had not the capacity to process while still trying to maintain my sanity

“My focus tends to be smaller than the whole world.”

[Someone’s left the TV set on, one hundred years ago.]

This morning’s coffee tastes like yesterday’s expired statistics and I still wonder where the real world has gone, i used to hear so much about it. Was it already extinct before i was born?

(The TV set was abandoned in an adjacent room that doesn’t exist anymore, yet it’s shouting louder and louder as each day passes.)

Two things.

1/ Looking at the world filtered through a bunch of screens is my worst idea of hell.

2/ Some days I really miss what was once The Web.
