[old things] / Boxes without a defined contour

INT. UNKNOWN SPACE – PERHAPS AT NIGHT

Inside a room of undefined size.
The overall light is faint.
The room appears to be lighted by scattered spots, yet dim. Their sources are indiscernible. The many rays of dim light are broken again and again as they run across the space. They seem obstructed by a forest of what appears to be recognizable as having the form of boxes. Boxes without a properly defined contour. They are stacked up to the ceiling.
We discern a silhouette amidst the fuzzy chaos. Face looking down toward various unidentifiable objects, scattered on the floor. He is trying to sort them out. His movements indicate a sort of half-haphazard half-mechanical habit. In sporadic moments he’s seen interrupted in his work, frozen for 10, 20 or 30 seconds. Sometime perhaps over a minute or several. The faint light makes it hard to see the look on his face. He sighs.

I still really like this generative ‘artworks’ series i did in Processing a while ago… (of which one is pictured below) Kinda wish i did more with it, or did more things along those lines.(1)

[I’ve been meaning to print bookmarks for myself for some time based off this stuff, perhaps reusing the source, but…](1)

1/ Who knows, perhaps later.

memories of a different lost highway

I rewatched Lost Highway tonight/today/this night/yesterday tonight. I’ve had this old cheap DVD of Lost Highway that i dug up. Shrink-wrap not removed.

I had only seen Lost Highway once. Probably toward the end of the 90s. Or perhaps early 2000s. I had very little memory of it. Almost nothing.

The span of what i remembered of Lost Highway only roughly corresponds to the first part of the film i watched tonight. The film/story that i had in my mind was entirely enclosed by the elements of this first part. ~One location, not that many characters. Although it was different.
This first part i saw again tonight didn’t include everything i remembered of the movie. i did remember somewhat “more”… more things from the film that weren’t actually in it. ‘More story.’ A longer story… that takes place in the confines of these ~25 minutes of movie-space.

Given what i remember of the evening/night i first saw it, i suppose i must have fell asleep during the movie, perhaps drifted in and out of sleep, but mostly dreamt the rest of it.

doodles

I’ll probably upload a batch of random doodles/sketches later.

House of Bugs (Kiyoshi Kurosawa, 2005)

House of Bugs (2005)
House of Bugs, 2005, réalisé par Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

Brave New World

OK SO this blog & 4am still haven’t been taken care of, still aren’t moved/fixed/merged/replaced/whatever — but it’s still standing, not yet crashed/hacked/or something else

SO, a quick random catch-up of doodles and misc for now.

random sketch on a very random august morning

Something after watching CURE by Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

Somehow I’m glad i had this DVD boxset and could listen to the OST today. Also glad i had a USB DVD-player to play the OST CD (and that both were at hand)
